Hi Chaps,
I got a chap to set-up a new dish and install the spiderbox for me.
The dish seems to be fine and the gift has been activated
However, the channel list seems quite limited and missing a fair number of channels and satellites including 9East and 5 East
I dont really wanna mess around with the USALS etc as the chap set this up for me.
I assume that l have to load a new channel listing but l dont want to mess-up the dish alignment....
so is it a case of downloading the channel list to a USB stick (FAT32), then loading them in.....is it as simple as that from reading the tutorial
but making sure that l backup the channel table first
Just need some guidance, as l dont want to end up screwing-it up on the first day
cheers
C.

Yes Charlie, it is as simple as that...
Another way of doing it is to do a scan on each sat manually.
Go to motor setting in the menu, leave it as usals, choose one sat at a time, once signal is ok, go to scan and the new channels will be added to your old list.

thanks for the response Brutus,
I think l will load in a channel listing, as the one thats currently in the box is all over the place...
final querstions, do l need to set my USALS up again after loading the channel listings?
And do l need to load the channel from 0.8West - so the dish is aligned

Yes you need to put your usals details back in the new channels list.
No you don't have to start at Thor 0.8w, with the correct usals, the dish will go to the sat you have selected. If some channels are missing, just scan the chosen sat

so its just a case of loading the channel listings, then setting the usals after the download is complete.
and only do a software update from what l have read and not software+data

Check you get the Sat's listed in the new listing, do you have H-H and no obstacles in the way ? I ask because depending on your setup, you don't want to crash the dish into a wall trying to get a sat' you'll never get / receive - for eg I cannot get any further West than 1W, the dish will crash into my house wall, therefore I have deleted all those Sat's further West :biggrinjester:

l guess the question was how to unlock channels in one go, as most of the channels uploaded are locked and each time you have to enter the pin

All the channel lists for the spider were very very average, I did my own for the 9000 only to find the patches were written for the the bog standard tune a satellite in one hit with all the channels all over the place .
I've nearly got another provider channel list sorted but TV2 PL1+2 on 1west are not clearing with it, all the rest of tv2 is.
I cant believe anyone wants all the channels from several providers on a satellite lumped into one list.

How come ? What chann' listing did you use or did you create your own ?
Why are chann' locked and you need to enter a pin ?
