So far so good I cant tell the difference between it and my official one, it came with sim 2.01 and boot loader 76a ive put a patched newnigma2 imagine on and it's let me down load from the site all the plugin's i need the only thing i dont like is it has a fan inside that runs even in stand by but i am sure i can sort that out.

I received my yesterday and up and running with Gemini 5 image which was already loaded on box. I heard nabilo is a good image.Do not know if I should change it or not.A lot of the clones seem to come with gemini installed. Any advice appreciated.

I am told that the dreamelite 1.3.3 runs ok in sim 2.01 once its been patched and runs even better than the nabilo ones , which in turn run better than the supplied image

DreamElite BH is a pretty good image, Nabilo no longer being developed and all the code and developers moved over to the DE BH project.

Hi,

There is a bug in DreamElite 1.3.3. that prevents you from formatting your HDD. Either use another image to format your HDD (it will then work in DreamElite) or follow this procedure which I've copied and pasted from the DreamElite forum (respect to the original poster Dimmie). You will need to be comfortable with editing Linux files!

---------------------

1 .Open the file fstab with a linux-compatible editor (i used textpad).
fstab can be found in "/etc"

2. When you have opened it you will see something like this:

rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
/dev/mtdblock2 /boot jffs2 ro 0 0
tmpfs /var tmpfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
#/dev/sda1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0

3. Now remove the '#' so that it will be:

rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
/dev/mtdblock2 /boot jffs2 ro 0 0
tmpfs /var tmpfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/sda1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0

4. Put the edited fstab file back in /etc, give it rights 644 and restart your box.

5. After the restart, format your harddisk, it will format without errors.

6. Play some channel and do some time-shifting (pause/play etc)

7. I noticed that the mapping option in Dreamelite image doesn't work anymore when you remove the '#" so now change the fstab file back to original, give it rights 644 and put the # in front of that line again.

8. Restart your box again.

9. Map your harddisk.

Tested on a DM800 and a DM8000.

---------------------

Regards,
GAH

Got my ext hdd working using this guide

The ext hdd is a seagate 320gb with its own power supply and I set it up like a usb stick rather than using the harddisk route

Hi Bobbydee,

Glad you got it sorted. As I mentioned earlier, I only copied it from the DreamElite forum, so any credit is due to the original poster Dimmie. However, glad I was able to help.
