DM800 lan share to Protek 9700
Gentlemen need your guidance.

I have the new software on my proteK 9700HD thus it can share from a server. I wish over my lan network to share my DM800 with it, the DM800 acting as the server.

Currently I have this nline in my cccam.cfg in my DM800
N: 192.168.x.x0 16001 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
Where 192.168.x.x0 is the ip of the Protek.

In the newcamd setup in the Protek I have 192.168.x.x1 being the ip of the DM800, I have dummy dummy as the pass login and Newcamd activated in the protek but
I cannot get them to connect ?? All help most welcome.

Hehe you're setup is now that the protec acts like a server ( N line in CCcam )

Only way ( if protec only can use newcamd protocol ) is to use newcs-cccam combination in the dreambox.

Add protec as a user in newcs.xml and then setup the protec

you havent specified if the protek is set to the correct port number , or if the dm800 listen port has also been set to that same port as well ?

better check and make sure that whatever port is being sent on is seen on the other one

and if you are using the dm800 as the server I would have thought that the dm800 should have newcs running and serving out in newcs , with the protek as the receiving box on the correct port , so it seems to me you have set them both up as clients , and no hosts at all

Like I said only newcamd/newcs.

You can't use them in CCcam server group.

Thanks guys followed all the advice but no colours. I think that despite the hype from protek it cannot share. Regards to all.

if it can receive cccam and newcamd it can share , but the point here is that the server must send either cccam f line , or newcamd or newcs n line

the protek must be set to receive the f line using a c line in cccam , or the n line in newcamd

so I would not blame the box for your inability to get it running

food for thought Echelon I will continue my research, thanks. Love to hear from one who has it working though.
