I'm a real novice and really appreciate all of your help.

I use a CTECH HD5000-C plus

S/W Version: 1.62p (Feb 20 2009)
H/W Version: 1.00
Boot Version: 110
CH Version: F012 + STD001

Could you please guide me as to which versions of the above I should be using, and where I can get them.

Can you confirm that the FW Patch is suitable for the CTECH HD5000-C plus. It doesn't mention "plus" in the post.

no: did miss the plus. can't advise you on other patches as I don't know the impact and safety of doing these.
