Possibly Ken (but not 100% sure) - was it an old map you had previously ?
Could try using Tomtom Home, but you'll have to patch TT Home first
( https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=606139&highlight=patch+home#post606139 )
& then try operating your tomtom with home - go to manage favourites & try editing & saving.
Another option to keep your favourites is to save them as POIs

Kas - have a look at post 15 here -
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=606139
for info about patching tomtom home. Also I've already posted a reply in the other thread you asked about your map not working.

If you want to keep your favourites & settings copy the file named 'mapsettings' from the old map folder.
This might cause your tomtom to freeze on boot up - if it does then either try connecting to tomtom home - operate your device - manage favourites - edit one & then save. If this doesn't work you'll have to delete the mapsettings file.

Hi Russell,

I did try finding the file for home, but i am using Windows 7, so i cannot find it anywhere.
What is the name of the file i need to patch for tomtom home???

I have gone into: C drive - Users - Kas - Appdata - ROaming - Tomtom - Home - Profiles - ui0f6rio.def - extensions, but nothing inside the extensions folder.
I have selected show hidden files, but still nothing der

What version of Navcore have you got on your Tomtom Kas ?
If it's one of the Truck versions then there won't be a file it (but I can get one for you :) ).
If not a Truck version, the using Tomtom Home - try to use the Operate my Tomtom - it should download & install a file for you.

My current TT is less than a year old, do I still need the files you said?

Current map is v840.2562 UK & RoI.

Forgot to ask, can I still update via their software or not anymore after this?

Thanks

Found out what I was doing wrong as it wasn't clear to me at first on the instructions. I needed to patch the ttsys

Is this the latest map as my TT says no new updates but map version says 2884 and I have seen 2931 on here somewhere?

Thanks

Just use the guide - patch your ttsystem file on the tomtom & then activate the map. You also need to patch the tomtom home dll file to get any updates - again see the first post in the guide.

The 855.2931 maps do not have ALG or IQ Routes, but both features are on the v855.2884 map. What version of Navcore have you got ? If you can't get the v855.2884 map to work then try the v855.2931 map

Russell

Think there some misunderstanding here.

I have it all working as I posted before, It wasn't clear enough on the instruction's that if you have a genuine TT version, use the tool to patch the ttsyetem first, then do the map.

Thanks for your help.

Use Tomtom Home to update to the latest Navcore, then patch the ttsystem file. Should then be able to use the v855.2884 map after activating it. And dont forget to add the v855 postcode files.
