Not used my humax 5400 for a year or two, when i first got mine no patch out for it, had to get a seca, viaccess cam, humax for Irdeto 3 gold cards and update each 4 weeks.

Think it was 2002 when first patchs came out which let you use embedded cam for Betacrypt, seca, viaccess or Irdeto.

Found this old post to show how to load one of the first of the long running humax patches -

1.) Download first ORIGINAL Humax firmware for your specific system ID of your 5400 (check this first in your receiver-menu) version HIC 1.03.06.

2) Download +CAM patch (Planet Hemp)

3) When you want to use original Humax software download the WDN4OAK (for firmware upload) and Formula V3 (for settings upload)

4) connect Humax with PC (or Laptop) through a nul-modem cable on COM-port.

5) Install first ORIGINAL humax firmware using WDN4OAK:
- open programm on PC
-choose file
- humax in stand by mode
- start loading with WDN4OAK
- programma asks to switch Humax ON
- programm installs (on TV screen and PC screen to follow)
- end loading = Humax restart with STND-BY button ON RECEIVER !!!

6) Load + CAM patch firmware with WDN4OAK:
- exact same way as original Humax firmware
- only difference offcourse is picking different file (+CAM).

7) Start Formula V3 (for settings) on PC or laptop.
- choose correct settins-file in Formula V3

- press "DOWNLOAD" (sounds funny, but anyway..) while Humax is in stand-by mode.
- File starts loading as you switch your Humax "ON".
- After loading settings (see TV screen and PC sreen) switch the receiver "ON" by pressing the STND-BY button on the receiver.

Now you have:
- latest official firmware
- latest patch
- settings

Now you can:
- decrypt Betacrypt, seca, viaccess and Irdeto in your embedded cam by using the correct card and file !
