500hd heat ? picture ?

hi can someone who has a dreambox 500hd
tell me do they go very warm or does the fan
installed keep them cool when a hard drive
fitted. ?
also can you tell me if the picture quality
is good. ?

do they go very warmThe real question is does it reach heats that affect its performance? And my answer is no. In general all electronics get warm, some reach 300C and keep on going and some others reach 50C and crash. I haven't made any tests to see which is the critical point after which its performance is affected.

Lots of talk was made in the past about the 800 and that after 18 months the box would blow apart because of getting overheated, but i haven't seen any 800 owners complaining lately.

is good. ?You can ask 10 different people and you will get 10 different answers. To me all boxes have good picture quality. There are alot of factors that affect picture quality, cabling, tv set, broadcaster, channel, encoding, stb...

its been 46C (outside temp) last week here (far too hot!) the 500HD worked fine.
The hdd is external, so has no effect on it.
