Eurosport

Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to watch stage 7 of the Tour of Spain on Eurosport with English commentary. I thought may be it was connected to the Softkeys I loaded - but today it was German commentary, which I think is the norm. Does any body know if it is the case that this is the German Eurosport and sometimes there is English commentary? I picked it up on Astra (19.2) and transponder 12.227h/27500

did you try changing the commentary with the audio button ?

sometimes they transmit more than one language

Ah - I did not realise you could do that. The transmission is tennis now - when I press the audio button German is the only option. I will try tomorrow when the tour is on. As a keen cyclist I thought I had stuck gold. Thanks for the reply.

I wonder how I saw stage 7 with English commentary? I set up a series of Favorites so I must have chosen the same version of Eurosport - very strange.

press satellite: select all channel
press OK: press ● A~Z
press left remote cursor
press down remote cursor to E
press right remote cursor
press UP remote cursor to Eurosport, and check out what Eurosport(s) open and have UK commentary. Select channel and press ok

You were watching Canal Eurosport it has 4 Language options one being English.This might be clearing with the latest SoftCam.Or maybe transmitting open for some reason. Hope this helps.

Thanks - I'm new to satellite so in continual catch up mode. I loaded the latest patch and softcam and noted that I had access to some restricted channels. Is it the case that you can put 'smart cards' into receivers and either pay for specific channels or download software/patches/keys to view them 'for free'? If you can view for free via 'key/patches' is it a continual game of catch up and changing as broadcasters changes codes? I suspect there is not card/key for Eurosport - this channel seems to be locked into the Sky environment.

Many thanks. I programed 12344 transponder and got a good signal - re scanned and saw it in my egp list. However, when I selected Eurosport (12344) all I got was a black screen.

Supersport 16* is not Open by Softkey in Technomate...
