View Full Version : Card Sharing?

I have a TM6800 super coupled to the lounge TV, my son has 'against my advice' subscribed to the demon sly and had a HD box installed in his room. Sometimes I borrow his white sly card when he's not in or when we all want to watch the footie in the lounge etc.
With the Dragon Cam and the Diablo Cam now gathering dust and the rest, we seem to be borrowing his card more and more often - I can sense you know what's coming next - and you guessed it!
Is there a way we can share the card without keep removing it from one receiver to the other? Sly of course don't want you to do this and want you to pay pay pay for a new second box and the rest. Well I guess this won't be the first time this question has been asked, so I'm sorry if this is 'old news'.

buy 2 spiderboxes
would it not be more economic to buy 1 linux box and use the existing receiver instead of buying 2 boxes?

would it not be more economic to buy 1 linux box and use the existing receiver instead of buying 2 boxes?

if it can be done with the existing box yes , but if not then 2 extra boxes will be required

Will it be possible to use the TM6800 HD Super? and what would be the most economical Linux box do you think?
I will ask the 'how do you do it' once I get sorted with the hardware if it's viable.:respect-057:

Linux box can serve to any box that has c s client capabilities. So one linux box would do.

spiderbox can send an N line out so if the other box can accept it then use one spiderbox as it can also accept the card quite easily too
