I have bought a DM 8000 with 500 GB HD and

a Sony DVD Player/Burner

I installed Nabilo Black Hole and everything is working well

apart from the DVD drive which is not being recognised.

It does play a DVDs but not always and will not burn. I get crash logs on a regular basis.

Has anyone any ideas how I can install it correctly or must I start again from scratch with the original Image.

Hi Airpilot,
I am about to put a player into this box. My 1.5 TB HD is brilliant in it, but was wondering how to get over the Sata connection. Is there more than one in the panel or is it relayed? On your question, - it could be the image causing problems. I left Nab one for the DElite one but that also causes many crash logs and often wont boot up vie Meoboot. It does seem quite temperamental in Flash. It may be worth trying another mage and seeing how it all works. I have installed[ on usb stick] a backup Gem one and also the latest Peter Pan 2.0 and put the various things needed into it including updater and all works very well indeed, so will report back if my player/writer plays up - once I know how to connect!!Cheers - Brain

Don't forget 1.6 images are experimental

Hi Oldfart
Yup, but what does that mean? Ones for the old 7000s were referred to in that fashion - is it just to disown if it goes wrong?Certainly the Gem and the PP2.0 are working very well indeed and I have loaded them up with loads of stuff. It is just that the DElite one on flash does seem temperamental when it comes to restarting, and needs to be back switch to override its temperamental ways, but I suppose old habits die hard and running from a usb stick with the freedom that gives seems to work well, but you'll probably tell me I am doing things wrong!! Hi
Just thought I would update on this. The 1.5 TB HDD is still working faultlessly so I have also installed a modest priced DVD player/writer. It had teething troubles in that one of the small screws holding the unit to the frame was just catching the carrier on return and this led to some erratic and unreliable results. Once I had corrected this all is now going really well on playback. Havent tried record atm BUT it wont play all bootleg/copy DVDs - probably a plus/minus thing. So all gong well with the learning curve so far!! Brain

Airpilot try this when you try to burn to disc:-

Menu- plugins
dvd burn
add (green button)
pop up menu- move curser to file ( don't click o.k)
Press green button (add )
Press lower right hand button on remote "record"
When asked to burn select "yes"
Move right curser to select after event i.e. go to standby.
Nibilosat 0.12 in flash

See if this allows you to burn to disc.
