Which patch to use straight from box?

I have been reading all I can prior to receiving my 9000hd on friday.

One thing I'm not sure of is that in the set up guides echelon mentions loading earlier patches before loading the latest.

Is this still the case? Or can I get everything working just by loading the latest one?

Just go for the latest patch, no need to load the old patches, the recent always contains all the updated firmwares.
