Memory-Map Adventurer 2800

Just acquired an Adventurer 2800 as a walking GPS aid.
I am able to acquire a number of maps for it, but they need a license.

Can anyone point me to sites that have free routes / maps?

Wow, lots of views, but no replies. Shame, this looks like a really handy GPS, but am having great difficulties in using it. Any advise greatly received.
