Ok as title says,still got me old hummie doin the biz(not much i know)but i'm looking to go HD,i've waited and waited and waited...etc..but just can't decide what to buy.Looked at spiderbox,dreambox,azbox..its a ruddy minefield.Basically i want something thats easy to use like me hummie but maybe got an internal harddrive(space is at a premium with an 18 month old running around)I could do CS i suppose but prefer not to,would prefer looking for a feed(the hobby). So without prejudice...whats really the best HD box at the min?

From what I read and experience, the Spiderbox is stunning in HD or SD (90000-HD) - is easy to use but many folks don't or can't read the setup guide and open the cardboard box and expect it to work lol .It takes 30 mins to 1 hour to setup initially and then the odd 10-15 mins for updates plus addit' time depending on what you want eg channel lists personalised, feed hunting etc (obviously need a motorised large dish for feed hunting I would assume)

To receive 'The Free Gift' you need to connect the box to a modem-router using an RJ45 for hardwired or Spider Plugs or something for wireless connection

It doesn't have an Internal HDD but I use a Samsung S2 320GB ext HDD - no P/S required, uses power from USB port and is small (2.5") so sits on top RH side of S/Box (away from S/Box P/S)

There is no 'best' box at the moment in my opinion.

Maybe Azbox HD Premium Plus will be the best when it has Enigma 2 working. ;)

Well there is a best box at the moment, if you can't afford the DM8000 the next best choice is the Vu+ Duo.

Azbox is a ****ty box and it will still be a useless box with Enigma2 as it will never work as good as on a real Dreambox/VU.

Thanks for the replies,had a mate who's told me that the spider is the best thing since sliced bread,like me had a hummie for years and then went to the spider.As a result i'm opting for the spider so had better get reading up on it..again thanks for the input.

Totally agree m8 had a tm800 hd although it was £150 cheaper, was and still is miles behind the vu+duo
