Attachment 1980Well, here I leave the last version of the plugin to install on any firm from the 4890 (KGD or not).

The main novelty of this version is the use of epg.dat file has been replaced load the EPG function for the creation of epg.dat file you need in principle less memory and is faster, after the creation of frees memory file and then loads the EPG from the file, which is very fast, as a result, memory usage is lower, the upload speed is at least 6 times faster, we have the file generated for subsequent charging a startup script in order not to lose the restart and the info is loaded into the appropriate field allowing more characters.

Some examples approximate speed:
Loading EPG Digital + (140 channels) for 2 days - 45 seconds
Loading EPG Digital + (140 channels) for a week - 1:30 minutes
Loading EPG Sky Italia (530 channels) for a week - 3:30 minutes.

Besides this, there have been some fixes in the xml (for example, has fixed the bug that did not eliminate the previous xml) and any thing else in the field of memory and has been added to getepg the parameter-A EPG convert all charged with capital letters (for those who have vision problems, lol) and the parameter-l for loading epg.dat generated (when getepg launches and loads the files but if you just want to do load without the whole process, this parameter does).

KGD 4890 Installation on firm
1 - Unzip the contents of the zip on your hard disk.
2 - Copy files getepg, and getepg.conf DaemonEPG the epg folder to / plugins / PanelKGD / epg in our Azbox and give permissions 755 to getepg and DaemonEPG
3 - Modify the getepg.conf to everyone's taste
4 - If you have a script in / DISk2/etc/start.d to recharge the old EPG epgdat program, delete it.
5 - Copy the script start.d content of the file folder that have been downloaded and unzipped to / DISk2/etc/start.dy give permissions 755
6 - As I suppose you will have the daemon loaded from the menu of the getepg PanelKGD or you throw through the crond, modify this script last boot and remove the line it says. / DaemonEPG.

Installation on non-firm KGD> 4890
1 - Unzip the contents of the zip on your hard disk.
2 - generate Azbox / PLUGINS a folder called PanelKGD (respecting upper) and within this another call epg
3 - Copy all files in the file epg that have been downloaded and unzipped to / plugins / PanelKGD / epg (to be created before our Azbox) and give permissions 755 to getepg and DaemonEPG
4 - Modify the getepg.conf to everyone's taste
5 - Copy the script start.d content of the file folder that have been downloaded and unzipped to / DISk2/etc/start.dy give permissions 755
6 - Connecting via telnet to Azbox and type:

cd / PLUGINS / PanelKGD / epg
. / DaemonEPG
. / Getepg

The second instruction memory, the daemon starts to load automatically every night and the third loading the epg.

Note: I found that almost always fails in the end when loading the file into memory epg.dat but apparently the EPG is loaded without problems, so do not give him much importance.

Many thanks! I hope it will work, especially for the fact that it's on the south beam. In my region, the north beam has quite a low signal and the reception is not possible around the clock.

does anyone know how to edit the 5am autoupdate ? I switch my box off at night and it's most commonly only switched on around 8pm-10pm in the evening... so I need to change the AU date to this.

looks ok should load 7 days I've just run you settings in telnet. I find on my box my system time is always one hour slow so your settings would run at 21:00.

tried it on mine with 1hr fwd and then one hour backward and then the correct time....I then waited for the times I had set but nothing seeemed to kick off an auto update of any of the files in my /DATA/hdb1/download/ directory ....if I do a manual update then these files update without an issue.

I'm connecting in via SSH and using the foloowing syntex

./DaemonEPG -h 20-m 32-d 7

I then wait until that time, check my /DATA/hdb1/download/ directory and nothing seems to update

did you killall any running DaemonEPG first.

What about the channels which are on more satellites? For instance, Csat contains channels which are present both on Astra and HB, but also on Atlantic Bird 3. Ift I download the csat epg, how can I make it work on a channel, regardless the satellite it is transmitted on?

I'm running the KILL_TV_EMU=1 option in PM 1.8 to get all performanc possible but when I switch back to TV I lose my GetEPG plugin, I can see I need to specify this to start again with the below option but I'm not sure the syntex to use

Ok so I have this working... well sort of, I added the extra argument commands below

the box kicked of an update at 22:00 as planned but for some reason it doesn't finish decompressing the files

If run manually it works and downloads the following files

/DATA/hdb1/download/ryuk.epg 2.28MB
/DATA/hdb1/download/XMLTV/rytec.channels.xml 365KB
/DATA/hdb1/download/XMLTV/rytecxmltvuk 12.45MB

If the DaemonEPG runs at the preset time then it only seems to get's this far, it doesn't seem to decompress them

Upon looking at the two files I mentioned these are the correct files and file size but if I try manually extracting their contents then they come back as corrupt, so something is going wrong when they download.

The line I have in my getepg.conf is


rytecxmltv_UK xmltv 7 0 x /DATA/hdb1/download/XMLTV/;http://www.rytec.be/tools/rytec.channels.xml.gz;http://www.xmltvepg.be/rytecxmltvuk.gz y /DATA/hdb1/download/ryuk.epg

would that be the correct config line to use for Sky 28.2 ?

HOW TO MAKE SWAP:

Plug in a USB stick with at least 250mb capacity and FAT formatted in to the rear port.

Start a telnet session with your AZBox from the command prompt or puttytel.

As follows:

Enter: telnet 192.168.0.30

The screen's response - MMP login:

Enter: root

The screen's response - password:

Enter: azbox

The screen's response - MMP[~]$

Enter: dd if=/dev/zero of=/DATA/usb1/sda1/swapfile bs=1024 count=102400

The screen will not update for about two minutes, after that, the screen will then respond - MMP[~]$

Enter: mkswap /DATA/usb1/sda1/swapfile

Enter: swapon /DATA/usb1/sda1/swapfile

Thanks Morser, I managed to sort this out and the daemon is working fine the issue I have is that manually it downloads the daily update files and decompresses them fine but with the timed daemon job the files seem to corrupt themselves and can't be extracted... Oh well I will keep trying other things :)

ok I tried deleting all the TV channel listing files from the /DATA/hdb1/download/XMLTV/ and /DATA/hdb1/download/ directorys and reapplying chmod 755 to all of them and let it download automatically and it failed again...I tried a manual extraction of the gz files and again they were corrupted, so I've still no idea why this isn't working...I will try moving it to the pendrive instead of the HD and see what happens...

The only thing I see different to me is that my XMLTV is on my usb and my ryuk file is on my HDD and not on the same device.

thanks Morser ...is there anychance you can look at why the Daemon doesn't work and the manual update does ? I've tried everything on here so I don't think it's user error it seems to be an issue with the plugin itself.

It's a great tool so thanks alot but I just wish I could get its full function :)

Thanks mikeyea. I was just following the guide exactly on the first page but as you said, the space wasn't need.

However, got a new problem now. I run app and the last bit of info states the following in a green font...

ERROR: TVSDK_LockTuner:1084 Fail to lock tuner freq =11778000

What does this mean please? I've got my sat set to 28.2E in order to obtain EPG for Sky Digital and according to King of Sat, the EPG is on 11778.00, so not sure why it wouldn't lock?

Also tried 12129.00 but get the same error.

UPDATE: Sorted problem, hadn't set net index. EPG found and now 'Reading Titles'. Got suck here for over two hours so quit and changed sky Uk freq back to the original 11778 and everything loaded within a few mins, however, many gaps appear in the EPG. Take BBC1 for example, there are larges gaps where there is no info and just reads 'Information is not available'. What could be the reason for this please?

My epg is not loading anymore.
When I reboot, i see loading epg for about 30 secs on the display, then epg finished, but nothing loads in the epg.

hiya, ran this proggie, telnet, ftp, adjusted everything inc config file...running 5360 orig fw used filezilla and putty for commands...this was my first time doing anything like this..anyhoo, just hangs on trying to load sly uk epg, but loaded all channels etc for d+...any ideas where i've gone wrong...desperate for epg!!:beatdeadhorse5:

hiya, finally got this working to good effect, though not perfect, loads of gaps!..however was working this morning on 5306fw...not sure about new 5308...good luck as this is a priceless plugin for the azbox!

i could never get it to automatically update with the daemon or using a cron job with priority manager.

It was never fast, sadly. It was very tasking and frequently brought everything to a standstill - but I believe it is down to the OS itself, not Morser's work!

It is not perfect, as it sometimes refuses to operate, for whatever reason. If you manually kick-start it sometimes it will work...

The Telnet commands are:

./getepg

i dont find it that slow. i'm using skyuk from rytec. In the end i created a fake plugin so that i could hit the next chappter key > > !, thats a shortcut that i often use to restart Multicas. I can then reload the EPG and still watch the channel. if you want do this i give my example. in folder /PLUGINS/OpenXCAS/ create a folder called GetEPG, also modify module.seq file like this:
MultiCAS
#GetEPG
in new GetEPG folder create two files , openxcas.conf and getepg.sh,
openxcas.conf is this:

name = GetEPG
daemon = getepg.sh
version = 1

getepg.sh is this
#!/bin/sh

cd /DATA/usb1/sda1/XMLTV
rm rytec*
cd /PLUGINS/PanelKGD/epg
nice -19 ./getepg -d2

This is for my elite with USB stick(usb1/sda1). You must also create XMLTV folder on this stick. For my premium, change line to cd /DATA/hdb1/XMLTV


i use this method as i have never got cron to work and its not inconvenient.

I bet both you and hfmls use a single provider to D/L EPG, as opposed to me, getting the full 10... :D
