Dream elite 8000 LCD picons help

Just installed this image on my box and down loaded the LCD picons,gone in to the settings and turned them on but all that shows on the panel is black hole can any one please help

Which directory have you put them in and where did you download them from ?

Hi sonic I down loaded them from the image server and auto installed,looked on dream box picons 4u but carnet see files needed

The server is being maintained by someone who does not know what they are doing.

Sorry but I would not know where to start with making them, I am sh!t with graphics.

Sonic once you've downloaded file it take it you FTP them using dcc?
Where about do they go mate?

That is fine but be careful not to put too many in as it will fill up the flash. ;)

They are for the lcd display not info bar Jeff.

To activade them on LCD you need to press blue button 2 times,then I think it's 3rd option down and them turn it on

I didn't try but I suppose that to solve this problem you could do a symbolic link to a directory of your mounted usb or hdd.
So in /share/enigma2/ remove the content of piconlcd and move the dir piconlcd to piconlcd_bkp.
Then create a sym link (for example if you have an hdd):

ln -s /media/hdd/piconlcd /share/enigma2/piconlcd

Now put your picons for lcd inside the hdd dir /media/hdd/piconlcd

But if it's in hard drive then the hard drive will always be on?

With my 500hd I created a symbolic link to HDD which spins up on every channel change.

The same suggestion is valid for picons (not lcd) too.
Put your picon on usb and you solve the problem.

ok guys got a bit further with it,i took one of the picons i down loaded and added channel info to it and it shows on the lcd,what i need to know now is what size they need to be and how to turn them black and white?best program for mac?
for some reason all the picons are black and white
