Hi,
im new to this forum and im still green about decoders.

i have a Humax IRCI-5400z and Funcard4 Galaxy2

when i switch it on, it displays the code : H2.08 which i guess its the version installed on the decoder.

is there an update of the software and what do you think of the card that i have (p.s. i never had a satellite before)

Hi dejv .1st off do you have a null modem cable as this is the only way to update the 5400.if so all well and good as it also opens other options for you .
now see what patch is on the box if you press menu it will tell you , you need to see what version of toh you have the latest is here :-https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=128749
then install the latest key bin file you will find this in the public upload area or in the humax sections on this board.
your card will not need updateing as long as you update the key bin but you must keep the card in the slot as this allows the patch to work.
you can also use the great little program that powercisco post's on here , if the servers are up it will open up alot more for you , but you need the box connected to a pc via your null modem cable.you can find that here :-https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=138728&page=4

i got a null modem cable but my pc doesnt have an rs232 socket. will a convertor rs232 to USB work?

also with the null cable connected to the box, how can i enter in the settings of the box? do i need a particular software?

i'm in the same boat and use a usb to rs232 with no probs.there used to be a set of tools called humax toolbox kicking around on the net which had all you needed , but the new patch also comes along with a tool to upload the hdf file to your hummy.

Alright dejv,
Basicly with a HoT Patch
you can get some encripted channels such as Biss etc
It depends what patch you have and what is out at the time
here is the uprade demo if your not to Familiar with the Hummy
some of these programs in the demo are old but it will give you a basic idea of what to do

i managed to connect it with the pc with a null modem and installed the Humax ToolBox V2.0

the box hasnt been used for about 3 years so i guess the toh is outdated. i am trying to find a guide of how to update the toh but couldnt find :S

tried connecting the box to the saltellite and got. no or bad signal.

browsed through its menu and got this:

Try this if you want to watch Bulsatcom 39E with Fausto emulator.
No need for internet connection.
All you need is a Fun Card in your Humax.
Pc with Fausto has to be connected to Humax with a RS232 cable.

Humax is updated with last firmware toh 11.4.(important that it is 11.4 for your particular decoder)

Start Fausto Emulator on your pc. Go to Fausto -Monitor tab. Check if Emulator is active (left mouse click and a Menu will be opened; go to Main Functions; verify if option Emulator Enabled is ticked; if not tick option because it's necessary!).

In Fausto- Monitor tab Load the KEYS.BIN file.by clicking on the Yellow folder(This is not the same key-bin you usually insert in Humax)

Move with remote control to a channel of Bulsat package on 39°E.

Picture should clear with no freezing.

i dont use Fausto i use sbcl and v-plug to get 39.e
you could use HoT 9.4 to latest patch to get these
anything lower than 9.4 you could have trouble with biss Incription
unless there is patch out to get these

Yes sbcl and vplug is very good too for 39E.
I have been trying to clear Digital Albania 16e with Humax Cardsharing box and Humax vip server but picture only clears for about 15 sec and than it freezes.
39E Bulsatcom and Srg have cleared OK with these methods.

just got my satellite with a motor last weekend.

i connected everything and when im changing the stations im getting a lot of channels scrambeled. mostly i can only see the italian channels.(italia uno etc)

As far as I know art/showtime is not open to view with any Key-bin or with Fausto at the moment unless you have an original card.
Humax with Toh 11.4 with Fausto will open some other channels like Bulsat*com on 39E.(I suppose you cannot see this since your dish is pointing to Hotbird and Nilesat???)

When i look in my sat list in humax it does,nt list bulsat 39east so how would i go about finding the sat I do have a sat finder signal box but, like i am saying bulsat not listed.????

I don't really know much about aligning a dish (maybe someone else in the forum can help you there).
Re: Bulsat 39e- Maybe it is not worth going through all the trouble of changeing your dish direction as there is a rumor that very soon Bulsat will change its encryption.
Re Nilesat: There are quite a number of FTA channels on Nilesat 7E --Dubai one, Mbc persia (movies), Mbc 2(Movies), Mbc 4 (Movies),Mbc Action (Movies), Mbc Max (Movies), Fox Series, Fox Movies, Fatafeat (cookery) Most programmes are English or American programmes.

I have done a full clean of humax and just reflashed with toh hot 1.14 like you said then scanned my two sats Then just added latest keys bin nothing else has been done. only changed time to gmt + 2 which is correct for cyprus where i am. Have i done everything correct only it seems to freeze on channels main one free view bbc world news ??????.

I want to get this right because i have a space dish which i am going to setup to find bulsat leaveing my other were it is.

Can you be so kind has to guide me on the right tracks ???? something wrong with it freezing on bbc world news Like i said only flashed firmware and keys bin no settings or pmct Have i done it right for cyprus Oh i also wiped my funcard 4 and re wrote its oringal files back. :confused:

If its freezing on free to air channels then something wrong..
could be power supply problem or bad signal ..
Is the box unresponsive on remote control when the channel freezes?
To get Hellasat in Cyprus look where the sun is at 10:30 - 11 am ;)
And you have to adjust the skew of the lnb,put it in the middle and then turn it little bit so the lnb out will look at left side of the dish while you are looking it from infront.

As Snakie says: It should not freeze on a FTA channel.and please answer his question: "Is the box unresponsive on remote control when the channel freezes?"

Try this:
With your remote. Press Menu- configuration=
Card + Emu
Card blocker: Off
Hsic
Nagra au: Off
and see if it still freezes.

1)There is no need to clean you Humax Decoder to change to a different Toh Hot. Just send the toh Hot to the decoder.
2) Re Funcard: The Funcard that I am using in my Humax has never been updated in any way and I have been using it for over 5 years.

I changed the settings as you said in the toh config Unfortunately it didn,t work it still freezes on a fta channel. Yes non responsive on remote, You press to go up or down a channel and the volume go,s dead first and then it just wont go anywhere (The picture does not freeze thou )

Hello mmg123,
The Key-bin is used to open encrypted channels and not to see Free To Air ones.
The Key-bin will not work without a Pmct table. (maybe it is freezing because you did the key-bin without the Pmct ????)
The only thing I can suggest is to do everything again in this sequence:
No need to clean previous:
1) Toh Hot 11.4 for your particular decoder (5400Z or 5400Z+)
2) Channel list (If it is installed or you have scanned, there is no need to do it again)
3) Pmct
4) Humax Key-bin

Make sure funcard is in Humax slot.
Humax configuration:
Card+Emu
Card Blocker: off
Hsic
Nagra Au: Off

Maybe Snakie or Marco can give you more advice to solve freezing problem.

Ok if it freezes like you say it could be 2 things.
Big channel list with lots of user defined buquets - favorites or power supply problem.
Once it freezes disconnect the lnb cable from it and see if its ok.
If that helps then you need to take it for a cleanup and fix of the power supply.

Is that in the right order to be done. Because i have no channel list settings to put in. So i just scan my own sats.

And thats it.

Have a check up of the power supply just to be sure.
Its known that in Cyprus the old humax cant stand the summer and creates such problems.
Also dont forget that is not a brand new receiver.
In worst case scenario you would pay 20-25 euros and be sure that everything is ok in that part.

Going to put my other dish up this weekend ??? Whats the markings on top of the lnb I know youv'e large 1s and some small 1s whats the distance between them for instance i need to set it at -7.1 that would be - anti clockwise yes. So i need to turn it to which mark for -7.1

large are 10 degrees , small are 5 degrees.
put it between the first large and first small mark.
While you look the lnb from the front of the dish, the lnb output must point at your left.
something like mirroring the Q <--this points to your right,its usually like this for hotbird
