Updating Spiderbox 9000hd

My firmware 0n the spiderbox I have is dated June 2010, How many patches do I have to put on it to bring it up to date and is it safe to do a reset with the latest patches without losing the gift patch.

just load latest patch,and factory reset,gift is safe but remember to save your channel list to usb.also you will have to reset usals etc.

The latest patch contains all previous patches / updates, so as maud says, just load latest patch .
