Hi, just bought a WD internal SATA 500GB.
The DM recognises that it's there. When I go into the harddisk settings it says what it is, but when I try to initialise it it just says it can't mount it.
I've tried via DCC but the Telnet mount function just says it can't find the mount/......... file/directory.

Any help greatly approeciated.

I'm running the the Blackhole 1.3.3.

Have you tried to mount the drive via the blue panel, hard disk setup? What about the devices manager, have you tried that too?

Cheers blue, nope tried the blue panel.
It recognises the HD but won't let me format it, points me to the main menu and the initialise function that won't mount the disk.
In the device settings I can choose the map, but this doesn't help as the disk hasn't been formatted(initialised).
Also in the devise settings under harddisk, it's says no harddisk is connected which is strange as everywhere else recognises it.

Cheers for the tips anyway.

Don't have time to explain got to pick up my kids, check on google, but you can use dcc/telnet to format the disk. Look for linux ext3 format command.

Tried the DCC/Telnet route mate, that's where is says it can't find the file/directory.
And cos it can't mount it can't format. :willy_nilly:

if you can get an entry into /etc/fstab - this will mount the hd for you
here is my 8000 entry:-

/dev/discs/disc0/part1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0
and for my 500HD (usb drive is mounted as a HD)

/dev/sda1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0
