Hi,

I would like to know, if this new 800 se, have the same problem as my 8000 !
I will explain, can you get more then 60 Clines, working without problems ?
On my 8000, i need to turn ON, both wired and wireless network's !
If i don't turn on Wifi, my Wired connection Goes Down, and if i use only the Wifi, ecm's are to slow.
Maybe someone can confirm ?
Thanks

Hi, my Dm comes From DE !
I have ordered the 800se anyway (waiting to be delivered next week), the problem is not internet (i have 7 pc's plus 5 linux receivers connected to home network), they all work fine.
The problem is the dm8000 it self, seem's not happy with to many clines, i have tested and re tested, wired or wireless both goes down after minutes/hours.
Same numbers of lines on my Old dm7020, doesn't seems to cause any cut off or disconnections.
Read on Some boards, that normal dm800 can't handle more then 25/27 clines, don't know if it's true.
Will see if new 800se as the same Limitation after some test's.
Thanks for your experience.

I am thinking of getting one myself.
How do you upload the flash loader in this case? Via USB? As there is no RS232 interface.
On top of the box seems as if there is a fan. Is this correct?
Regarding images the ones that work for DM800 are ok? And what about the ones for 8000 model?
Thanks

> How do you upload the flash loader in this case? Via USB? As there is no RS232 interface.
You can use Mini USB with DreamUp loader, or simply via web browser as normal.
> On top of the box seems as if there is a fan. Is this correct?
Correct, a PWM controllable fan is fitted in the top.
> Regarding images the ones that work for DM800 are ok? And what about the ones for 8000 model?
As with any Dreambox the images are made for each box so use ones for the DM800SE only.

I don't know if you are allowed to upload files. Create a new thread in the image section and press the attachment button. Its a small paper clip button.

no apparently not.. :nopity: its something to do with the processor being differant..
:respect-050:
no you can't, go to a firmware developer and look for a specific image for 800SE, like here for example,

Hi... I have just bought my new DM800HD SE
Previously I had DM800HD (old).
I am using Wireless Dlink DWL-G122 (which in the past in my old DM worked perfectly for over 1 year).
First impresion is that the machine is very nice, but I have an annoying problem which I have to solve it: PING to my machine: when it starts everything is okay but after some minutes it is growing to 1000-2000ms. and I think (not sure yet) that I am blocking some users too....
Take a look: after I start the DM800SE everything looks fine…
The Ping is in order:

Does it stay like that forever or does it recover back to normal values?
First of all disable CCcam and see if you get similar results. Another possible answer is that it could be interference from some other wireless network nearby or that the wireless channel isn't configured properly. In that case, at your wireless access point, try different wireless channels and see if there is any difference.

In My case, i Started using my 800se with the cfg from my 7020 (about 120 lines).
Same problem, Cccam stoped after a few minutes, sometimes losing Dcc Connection.
Now i'm using a new cfg (for now i have about 45 lines and growing), everthing is 100% OK.
Will see when the number of lines aproaches 100, to see if i get the same problem.
PS: I don't Use Wireless, Only Wired

Are you using a 800se or normal 800 ?
Is a Clone or Original ?
When you say 29 Maximum, is 29 C's plus 29 F's ?
cristimate
23-01-2011, 05:16 PM
it is DM800Se (seccond edition);
Original one. verified
29F + 29 C of course
really I do not know what to do to it; after some hours I see again it is making like this when I ping it
please help me, I think I have a defective unit?

Try with 0 0 0 { 0:0:2 } on your F's or 1 0 0 { 0:0:2 } .
It's Maybe Normal, as the normal 800 as this issue.
cristimate

thanks; I will do that
but with 29 lines? with my old dm800HD (normal) which I sold it everything was oki with 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 }
I will change now for 0 0 0 and see what's the feedback...

Get Netstumbler or Inssider, install on your pc and have a look hows your wireless signal goes when the problem starts.
If you have a laptop go sit near dm and check it out.
If you have a desktop install one of those usb wifi and move it far from your router/access point.
This somehow will give you a visual explanation if other stations are in the same channel.
Also know that nearby channels can cause interference also.
Example: if your router transmits on channel 6 and its a G or N, it could use 40 mhz bandwidth ,which means the actual transmission is starting from channel 5 and goes up to 7.So any other strong signals on 5 and 7 could lead to instability.
Also the fluorence lights in the house create interference among others.
Another thing is that quality is better than quantity as jimrare said.
You can have a look under CCcam debug to see if you have shares that tend to disconnect all the time and create more traffic.
You must start CCcam with parameters -dvn

well... I got tonight the new DM800SE
It looks that If I put my old 45 lines, the new one makes the same crazy ping after a period of time (minutes)
I have drastically decrease the number of active lines to 30 and in ste same time make some lines recived from peers (my C lines) like no { 0:0:1 }
like this I have reduced the hop2 received lines from 2500 to ~1100 just to see the impact
I will leave it for the night and see the impact... it looks that this new DM800 Secc Eddition does not allow you too many lines...
