hi guys i have a dm800hd with the alps bsbe2 tuner using usuals i have a motorised system and can recieve all sats from 30w to 42 east bbc1 on 28.2 is 100% but sky comedy is 84% the problem is the channels that are 84% and there about are breaking up i did think it was hd channels at first but the problem seems to be with the low snr the ecm times are 0.602 other channels with higher snr are perfect
i have been on positioner set up and cant increase the signal any more
could any one suggest how to fix this

Not all transponders are as strong as each other on most sats, indeed at 28.2E there are multiple sats, so hardly a surprise that there are signal strength differences between channels. BBC1 is on 2D beam, while Comedy is on 2A North beam, and they have very different footprints.
Similarly, tuners and lnb's are not consistent across the KU band, so this could also have an impact.
Doesn't solve you problems I know, but explains why you may have them. BTW: I get more break-up on Dave than other channels, but if it gets bad I just switch over to the TV's freeview tuner :D

I find that by moving the dish slightly & therefore reduce some channels from the 100% mark this can actually increase the lower signal level channels.
EG..
100% = Good signal on BBC but others breaking up
90% = Good signal on BBC & others now ok.
It is odd though that by reducing the signal on some channels, you actually
increase levels on others.
Could be a dish / cable matter aswell.
It is just a case of getting a level which enables all the channels to be on & working.

ok guys just to clarify the ecm time i told you was the worst channel
since then i have checked ecm times and can confirm there between 0.100 and 0.300
i also told you about the snr heres what i done
i have changed my longitude setting by o.2 up or down theres a giude fine tuning your satellite dish
and can now confirm my snr is great with no freezing and no hd glitching its true what they say about my glitch free tuner after all
in some cases its easy to blame the box
is it a glitch is it signal is it overheating is it ecm times check all these out first
and thanks for all your help
