Apply a patch:
_______________
Get a USB stick.
Download a patch from here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=579
EXTRACT the file (*.uad) from the rar file and copy it to your USB stick.
You must extract the file using winzip or winrar or a similar program as the rar file on a USB stick will not be of any use to you.
Insert the USB stick into one of the USB ports in your spiderbox.
Go to the Accessory Section of the menu and select USB.
Scroll to the .uad file you have copied there and press OK
In the popup window, select S/W Update
Wait for your box to load the patch.. DO NOT POWER OFF
The box will reboot by itself with the new patch installed.
Turning on the patch
In the Accessory section of the menu, select "network"
The normal view of the submenu will show
Type: ON (If you see off, scroll sideways to turn the network on)
Network: IP Setup
Home Stream server:
if you have loaded a patch press 1111 as soon as you enter the network screen
New options will appear below the default options
Type
Network
Server
Home Stream Server
NuevoXstream
Homeplus.
Service +
FOR GIFT Channels:
Go to Service+ and select it and press OK.
Turn it on by scrolling sideways
Select "Register" press OK.
Registration will take up to 5 minutes. Connection may take a little longer, be patient.
When you see Status Connected it's done.

I have had a 9000HD for a week now and am well impressed with gift etc, but I can't seem to get any channels to clear using softcam, I have latest patch and softcam installed but still nothing, do we need to switch anything else on or fit a dummy card like in the old humax?
BTW I have used the old sly telephone cable as the spider network cable, as looking at it only 4 wires are needed for the network to work; and thats pins 1,2,3 + 6 of the RJ45 connector, this saved me buying the mains network adapters or running cat5 cable around the lounge.

go into key edit and turn ucas ON , and make sure the latest compass HD softcam has been installed after using reset key data , this is assuming you are using the nov 08 2010 patch
then try c+ on 19e or bulsat on 39e
as for checking the network , go into your router admin panel and check the box has an ip and you can see its mac address

set your router to a fixed ip address if dhcp auto isnt working ( like on netgears )
your router should already be connected to the internet
