You can type the ip address of the dreambox into your browser.
username:root
password:dreambox
There should be a link for a live screen and you can change the bouquets from there too. Not familiar with a DSM image so not sure where the link would be.

but if try my friend home pc it does not streamIs your friends pc connected within your local network?
If yes he shouldn't have any problems.
If no then that means he is trying to connect to your box through the internet. Here you have 2 problems. The first is that you need to open some port so that your box can be accessed through the internet and second, which is the most important, you will need to be able to upload at speeds near 400-500kbytes/sec on normal standard definition channels although this figure may vary depending on channel. Not many people have internet connections that can upload at that speeds.
The solution, if your upload speed is not fast enough, is to lower the picture and sound quality from 500-600kbytes/sec to a figure that matches your upload speed. This can be done using a pc.
thanks for your reply,
i will try and let you know the result soon.thanks again

As i said at my previous post, you have 2 problems. The first, which is opening a port, is a minor problem. This second, which has to do with your (not your friends) internet connections upload speed is most important. Is your upload speed fast enough? If you don't know how to find it out, try this _http://tinyurl.com/2dfkwub

Try this _http://tinyurl.com/gqokd just to make sure. You will need to press the "begin test" button.
hi jimrare,
i have tried your link ,its give me 0.48Mb/s reading and down load speed 9.75Mb/s and
ping 8ms.is that speed is ok ?

0.48Mbps = 57,5kbytes per sec = 1/10 of what you realy want. These speedtests are not that accurate, maybe your upload speed is a touch faster.
The solution is using a pc that transcodes the channel (transcode=convert video and sound to something that is suitable for your needs),in your case you need to lower the picture and sound quality to something round 0.5Mbps. I have tried it using vlc. You will need to do some research. Here is a starting point _http://tinyurl.com/2f7oz4l
thanks jimrare,
i will look at it.-------
