Would someone be kind enough to let me know how to update a key file with a new key.
I've tried to edit the softcam with the latest Bulsat Key but having a problem getting it to work. I have done this before but ages ago and normaly just use an up to date KeyBundle, but as this is not upto date I've tried to do it myself.

I'm using Flash Fxp and just edited the current Softcam Key from Minicat Bundle and added the new Key that's been posted.

I 060400 06 ********************F60C0FAA6528 ;Bulsat (39°E)

I'm using the patched MgCamd and it was ok until the key changed. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Please Help

Thanks

Fuji ,

in this case I use program TC / total commander / :
- through FTP I join to my dreambox ,
- load file * SoftCam.Key * from " var|keys " folder ,
- rewrite the correct line with new keys ,
- send SoftCam.Key back to dream and
it works everytime after key change .

Good luck .

I can edit the Softcam no problem and I've checked any changes that I make have been sent to my DB. When you say

rewrite the correct line with new keys

I've not deleted anything out from the Softcam Key I've just added the new key. Am I supposed to change the existing Bulsat key with the new one?

Thanks

Right ,

You have to change existing "old" key with the new one , of course in the
correct format / SoftCam.Key / - thats all.

Just erase the old key, and paste the new one, save and exit !
Reboot emulator

Thanks for this I wasn't sure. I've now managed to find the 06 line in a mind field of keys and replaced it with the new. All working Thanks

Or if you are asking where it is in the DB it is in usr/keys [which you can also get to from var ].
