The above mentioned TV which lives in the bedroom has decided to die today, just flashing red led light on the front.

A little research leads me to think it is blown capacitors on the psu.

Does anyone know if I can get a service manual for it ? or does anyone here have any repair knowledge of fixing TV's ?

It seems to me that its the psu, but it could be the primary psu and a blowned driver on the secondary psu.
There is a good UK based company which is specialised in such problems, i found it on
google a couple of times when i was trying to fix a Grunding psu.

Having been patient waiting for a supplier to get back to me I am now getting desperate.

Does anyone here work in the TV repair industry ?

I am desperate for a psu for this TV now

Funny Peter, I also found that out today from a m8 who has replaced some, if I was not told that I would never have considered it.

Also ordered myself a new soldering iron where I can control the voltage as my gas soldering iron is a little OTT :D

I will let you know how I get on. :respect-054:

No m8, replaced all the capacitors on the psu switched the TV on and got the same error code flash up.

Will never purchase another Phillips TV, if you google the problem it seems it is a big issue and the support I got from them when I made contact was useless.

They have a problem and wont admit it or offer any sort of technical advice either.

The TV was just 3 years old when it went wrong which is poor when I still go to by brother in laws and watch old 8 year old panasonic TV.

Ordered and new samsung now :D

yea shame when they work philips give good pictures,,i had a 32 crt several years ago and was well pleased with it at first, cracking picture with wireless surround 100htz ect after a year or so the on - off switch kept faulting,as usual not long after warrenty expired cost me 70 quid for a replacement ,few months later went again this time when i was in bed shortly after turning it off i smelt burning and there was smoke coming out of the front and was unrepairable, could off burnt the house down thinking about it ,lucky really, got it replaced by home insurance ,,,philips .....never again

In all I replaced 7 capacitors and I an 99% sure I replaced the one you have mentioned. ( I even have a couple left over as I had to buy multi packs of some of the caps ).

Hopefully though your information may help someone else in the future. :respect-055:
