Going to buy a new TV for the kitchen, my old CRT is on it's last legs.
I reckon a 22" screen is going to be big enough, but what make? I've read that some of the cheaper ones, although having a passable picture, can have a very tinny sound quality. So I'm looking for something with a good picture and good sound reproduction but not going to cost me a fortune. Any advice?
As I say it's only for the kitchen so no fancy features needed.
I would say LG are worth a good look at not bad for a cheap price.

Most 22" TVs have passable pictures but as you say the sound is quite tinny. I doubt you would get Freeview HD in a 22" though.

A time back bought, here in Spain, the LG2262 TV/Monitor.....excellent and very handy that it can be used as a PC monitor too, especially with the 4:2:2 feeds we have these days in HD.
The TDT (our equivelant of your Freesat) is no problem as the set comes with a FULL HD integrated tuner, here 64 asstd TV channels include some 7 HD ones.
Good buy, hope you can find the latest model to compare.

Yea, I wasn't expecting HD freeview. I probably shouldn't have posted under HD TV Sorry for confusion, but thanks for replies. I suppose it's like anything else, "you get what you pay for".

That toshiba is on sale and available in argos but is standard freeview only. So either amazon has a special model (when it's in stock) or it's another of their cock ups.
We bought one of these from Tesco for our static caravan.
Technika 19" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview & DVD player. They do a 23 inch for about £20 more.
Cheap as chips for around £145.
Must admit though that it does look a bit "plasticky" But has a great picture and adequate audio up to mid-level. :king-041:
