Hi,
My sky box happily receives all channels, I put my 500s in its place, and it doesn't receive quite a few of the channels (same card)
Is it just that the tuner in these boxes are rubbish?
Is it my image (Jade Pli)
Something else?

You need cccam or another EMU and then learn how to use it.

I have ccam 2.1.4 (server) running and it's the same (legit) card....isn't that enough?
Where do I find out about ECMs?

I'd suggest updating your sat xml just to be sure all the TP's are being scanned.;)
Also its well known that SLY are changing freqs and pids for channels fairly often, your sLY box updates automatically but your DM won't, you could try scanning the transponders manually for the missing channels and see if they pop up.

Missing channels probably means you have not set the box key as in this example:
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 00 00 00 00 - replace the 0s with your box key in hex.
Lots of posts around telling you how to do this.

I've updated to a l8tr cccam - 2.1.something. Now getting most channels.....but still some exceptions. i.e.sly premiere and prem +1 ....other film channels ok.
Any ideas?
the card in the sly original receives the channels.

as sleepy has allready stated sly change freq's often
do a manual scan of 11836 H 2/3 27500
and you'll find those 2 channels
