Last week I became the butt of several jokes for being the only person from a large circle of friends that does not have a Facebook account.
This has made me think, am I the only person that can’t be bothered with social networking sites? Please help satisfy my curiosity, do you have a Facebook account?

I have do not have an account, all "contacts" have other means of reaching me and if I like to have more "friends" I can always find them here :)

I personally believe it does serve 'some' useful purpose, especially for those poor lonely people who dont really have much of a life - but YES it can be ok, like anything else in life if not abused!
I tend to avoid it most of the time, as you can rapidly find yourself involved in a lot of useless, albeit mostly friendly, banter with a lot of people you maybe wish you hadnt bothered with in the first place -

yes got one, very good for keeping in touch with friends and family, some of the games are entertaining, and the banter is good.

Funny , whenever you here about child grooming etc ,the name Facebook allways gets brought up . Not funny ha ha ,you understand , but why is the media always linking Facebook to some sort of Paedo site ?.
I'm not interested in these so called social network sites at all and dont see the attraction .

I did have an account but I'm in the process (not easy) of having it PERMANENTLY deleted . I have to wait 14 days without accessing it in order for it to be fully deleted .

I opened a farcebook account for a while, but soon closed it down again. I found it a bit pathetic, probably ok if you are a school kid, but not really for grown adults in my opinion. I found that I was being contacted by people that I didn't really want anything to do with. .....I DO NOT LIKE THAT.

I dont have an account and wont have one. If you wanted to keep in touch with old friends you would have done so. Whats the point of finding people or have them find you when in reality you lost touch because you didnt ***king like them or they were only third party aquatances.

Yeah a pile of crap. I've got a made up account on there just to see if theres any old slappers I used to know hehehe. It amazes me how many friend request I've had even though I made up a false name. Might have something to do with naming myself Bono hehehe. Why do people want to put all their personal details on a website where everyone can see them. Makes no sense to me. Anyway just going to update my wall with some stupid "ohhh just fed the dog and then I'm off to bed" comment. :D

Had one was fun for a while, then they decided to allow companies to access information which you have to opt out of and isn't easy to find to do so. Plus I don't really want to hear about what you had for breakfast or how amazing you think your kid is for standing up. That and the fact our governments are using it to spy on us.

Facebook has its uses for business purposes and offers free advertising for actors and musicians as long as you use it properly you should be fine just a load of people need a kick up the backside with their useless posts and mindless drivel that is why it has such a bad reputation in that area. One last thing loads of ****stars on there use it so you can get inside knowledge what they are up to as well.:king-041:

My Mrs and the teenagers have it, but can't access it anymore as i blocked the site through the router as the teens did nothing but argue with people and took offence when people were not too nice.
So rather than listening to them whining about who did what on facebook they now need to go to the local library where they can't make a noise..lol
