if you are now using the icecrypt as a dreambox you would do well to read up in the dreambox sections on using the dreambox tools and plugins etc. on a dreambox you use dreamboxedit or dreamset

oh ok thanks.

i dont understand the connection though between all these manufacturers E2 images, and the tools \ plugins.

i thought if i use a Fortis E2 image, then i'd be confined only to what is available in the plugins section for that "image"

i didnt know i could treat it as a dream box and use proper dreambox tools \ settings...

I have no idea how this applies to your icecrypt , I was simply answering the question as to how you install the E2 dreambox catseye channel list that you referred to in your post , and as its mainly used on enigma 2 images like on the dreamboxes then the answer reflected that. I use dreamboxedit for this on a dreambox and is what darrelr also said in his previous reply. questions like yours usually get posted in the dreambox newbie section when members are starting out and so its my opinion that if you are now using enigma 2 then the same parameters apply

There is a difference in settings and plugins.

The E2 image is a Linux-based build and the settings are merely files in a particular directory structure. Hence using them is OS specific, not CPU specific.

Plugins are executables and need to be compiled for the particular processor family implementation of Linux. In our case you are looking for SH4 complied code.

The AAF images have a Plugin manager that resricts the available plugins to SH4 specific versions. If you install a plugin by hand ensure it is (a) for E2 builds and (b) for SH4 processors.
