My 6900 super has gone in to some sort of loop as it powers to the tecnomate name on the box then to the last channel and keeps repeating this so can not get in to the menus etc. ,tried to patch it but says no com port detected has anyone come across this before?

Have to switch off at the back all the time and nothing on screen.

I managed to connect by serial and loaded old patch everything went well and firmware was written ok but when box reboots its back to the same loop again!!!

I tried to download channel list and all I get is version 7.25 detected and stops there??? weird or what.

Download original firmware Version 735 from the Technomate web site dated 08-12-2010.
Download the relevent loader and extract. (Use darkman loader)
Connect your receiver to the pc via rs232c cable.
Choose the correct com port.
Leave the receiver OFF this is very important !!!!!
Open the loader and select the software tab.
Press browse and find the extracted firmware.
Press ok then start then wait, it will be in connect mode
Now you turn on your receiver
The loader software will pick up the boot signal and will upload the firmware!
If the receiver now boots OK, now you can repatch using Phantompatch 736p for TM-6900 Super or your patch of choice.
Do it like this and hopefully it will work...

Yes have done all that correctly but still in a loop and no onscreen info!!

I am looking for another way to check it apart from rs 232 and a friend has reccomended a former sat technician who has retired but no answer as yet.

Fred, I'm sure you probably did this - but when you switched your TM stb off, did you switch it COMPLETELY off - at the mains mate, because sometimes software errors & corruptions, become 'trapped' within the box - and a TOTAL power off can sometimes eliminate them - much as you can do sometimes with a Sly box? :respect-055:

Yep completely disconnected but I believe there is a secret menu for technicians so looking at that now.
