bootloader and firmware problems

Hi all,
Tried to update the new software from USB drive to my S4000HDPVR. but I couldn't. getting "cannot download, check model" message. Please help me. thanks.

Use the software above by:

a. downloading to your computor

b. unzip so that it becomes a .ird file

c. load onto a suitable USB stick

d. put USB into the front USB on the s4000

e. when the download shows on your TV screen press red button on your remote to
download.
f. the download and application will all load automatically and when complete ie when a
channel appears on your tv, remove the usb.

h. continue watching programmes.

have u changed your bootloader to Octagon or something else maybe using the ART tool?

I did exactly as you described. but still getting the same message. The boot loader is 1.21. No idea. What to do?

Didn't change the bootloader. It is 1.21.

i mean the reseller ID mate, not bootloader, as when i change my reseller ID to octagon, it prevents me downloading icecrypt firmware, and vice versa.

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, please note that I am totally new to this sat. branch. I know nothing about it. I got it from one of my friends. So don't know what he did. Which reseller ID etc. Can you please give me a link or help to resolve this issue? If the reseller ID is not from Icecrypt, how can I revert it to the original factory state? Is it possible to do with USB drive? etc. Thanks.

no you need a serial cable mate, in the tools section theres a link the ART reciovery tool, you connect your pc to the stb, load ART, and then connect, then theres a list of reseller id's - it will tell you what yours IS SET TO, and give you the option to set yours back to icecrypt.

you COULD try installing the latest OCTAGON f/w and see if that goes on....the worst that can happen is the same message you've got already.

in that case then your reseller id must be set to something other than Octagon or Icecrypt - u really need to connect using the ART tool to find out what the box is set too, it could be ATEVIO or all sorts, there are MANY incarnations of this STB

Thanks. I will try it. The current firmware is 1.08.65. Sometimes the box is freezing. I have to restart it to work again. May the new one will fix the problem.

lol dont even go there mate, r u running octacam mcas plugin???

if so, use cccam

i suspect that maybe mcas with a freesat card combined might have been causing my crashes, as no one else seems to report it, i am going to run with mcas wihout card for a few days and see what happens

BUT my box was stable for 4 days running cccam214 and latest softcam.key
