When installing an internal hard drive into a dm800, do you have to format the drive as NTFS or FAT32. My Dm800 is stuck on booting with NTFS with a Gemini 5.1 image.

Hi
I have an 8000 and if it is installed internally then go to device manager and ask the box to initialise and mount the HDD. I think both boxes do the same here. Apologies if wrong. Good Luck - Brain

Yes I know it needs to do a format when it finds it but what format do you use in the first place or does it not matter?
Thanks

Hi there
I think we are at cross purposes here. If the box asks to format it will do the necessary and then you mount it - all should work fine then - it did on my 8000. Hope that is right. Fat/Ntsc tend to be before putting a memory stick on via computer although box will still want to format it itself,or when using a computer. Brain

Thanks -My dm800 would get stuck booting up with an internal hard drive formated with NTFS. But I got it to work in the end by by going into disk manager on my computer and deleting the partions. I had two partions because he drive came out of my laptop. One recovery and the other one normal. Deleted both and went to setup configuration and initialise hard drive which did the format. All works fine now.
Tks :)
