Still having trouble with this one. From PC to DB for the TV. Have tried DJmount but although they can be uploaded they do not appear on the box as a plugin or as scripts although in the box. Have tried numerous copies of VLC Stream v1.0.and 1.1 but wont run on windows 7 - any good suggestions for any other streaming package please? Many thanks - brain

All neatly solved on both PC's now thanks to Passete's careful and patient help. Any one else follow this link posted by Passete in third post. https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=141509 . Anyone know if it can be done same way on a Mac? I am about to try and will report back. Brain

I have tried every thing possible to link this to the Mac - user name/computer name/local name etc and shared file is on but the main problem seems that the DB will not accept .- etc in a local name. Anyone else got this working with one please? Many thanks - Brain

@Passete,
Yea - sorry its me again. Yes - that is the wierd thing. I know it must be something to do with the mac because both PC's work fine and I have put in a page on the DB for each in the webbrowser menu - both macs are there with IP addresses. I ahve treid setting up the mountpoint page but I am sure it must be some thing with the mac local share name. First PC is 'angel' so it goes in each local and username with My videso as the shared file. On the mac I haver called it barnsbook and server share is 'films' - as named on the mac. Password is set as mater on the mac and inserted into Mountedit. It is a puzzle to me but I must be missing something since I have tried all permutations of mac name and prefaces!! Thanks - Brain

Forgot to finish this thread with macs also working fine for the last couple of weeks. It is dependant on setting a simple name for the mac - nothing other than letters since the mac itself may add numbers dashes etc. My macbook for example works as 'barnsbook' and no probs.Thanks for help here.All running a treat.
