got a 50" samsung full hd plasma but have discovered this set has no headphone socket is there any way i can get round this by using any other connections

It should be possible to connect headphones to the external speaker socket depending on connection type but turn the volume right down first.

Post the model number and someone may give a better reply.

The spec says it has a " Minijack Audio Out".

Is it a 3.5 mm jack (like modern headphones) or a 6mm jack (like older headphones) ?

Some of the wireless headphones have a transmitter unit that plugs into a scart socket.It may be a way round your problem.

I'm not sure - I only read the spec on the internet.

Doesn't the handbook tell you ?

handbook says service connector for service but doesnt say which service

Plug your sat receiver into an A/V receiver with a headphone output.

How long is the cable on your headphones? Do you really want to sit that close to a 50 inch TV?
