Hello,

Got a S4000 with 1.08.83, dual LNB and mgcamd as cam.
When I watch a channel and press record the recording starts but when I want to select another to view a lot are grayed out, I selected separate in menu am I missing something?

Have you got two cables from your LNB connected to both tuners.

Yes I have 2 cables...
I did use PolarEditor1018 to move some channels, could it be that it messed up some "hidden" database settings?

I had this issue too. Check your dish settings, tuners must be set to SEPARATE mode, not LOOPBACK, then channels won't be greyed out. Hope it helps :)

Tuner is set to separate and if I select tuner2 in the same page I can see a slightly different signal reading.
Is there any way to select tuner number while viewing? (to make sure both are working)

I reset the box to factory defaults and started from scratch, all is well now can record and watch whatever I want, problem solved...
