Not the point.

Debate is. And this is the section for it.

So, anyone tried it yet? Any serious bugs or better than before? Should we try it?

It's a problem, sometimes, to keep testing, when you only have one box and your family is using it all the time... So, be good to hear the feedback! ;)

Why not just keep it in one thread rather than all over the place

The files section is not for debate, from what I understand...

Now on official web site the main thread for talking about RC6 is closed, and the title is changed in:
Talk : RTi core RC6 Enigma 2 (WITH NEW TEST DRIVERS, NOT FULLY FUNCTIONALLY)

Many users are reporting issues. i think that for a daily use of the box is better to remain with RC4.

I also invite you all to move discussion about this release here and not in the file section. Just my opinion....

Well,
installed few hours ago.
I must say that this is a big improvement (My daily use is watcing encripted channels with 3Cam client and watchin subbed mkv's)
For my daily use is a great step forward, now i get dolby digital output and correct aspect ratio.

Only big issue is corrupted cifs mounting.
After that i'll be satisfied!

Worth a try!

Although picture quality is excellent the problems with recording and not easily being able to play TS files makes this unsuitable for me for daily use, Dolby digital audio is great step forward and media centre looks cool but at the moment until some of the bugs in new drivers are sorted out I will stick with RC4/5. As mentioned previously "One step at a time"
Good job guys!!

Same problem over here, either got zero signal, tune errors or simply it only finds a couple of the services.

I have a DiSeqC sw 4/1 with 19.2E, 13E, 28.2E and 23.5E.
My solution was switching from an "advanced configuration" to a simple configuration and after tried several settings (most importantly 22KHZ switch should be set to YES); I am back in business. Almost, the 23.5E signal lock HD problem is still not solved (same as before).

this fw image is unusable and continues tradition
of releasing "fan on/off" firmware. amen.

Works fine for me, but just occasional gears crash.

Media player still has lip sync issues.

This version is nothing like a "fan on/off" release. It is based on new drivers and a new kernal. As such there is bound to be a few issues, it is released for testing purposes as part of the long process of bringing a fully stable Enigma2 to the azbox.

We can do our part by reporting bugs which is useful to the developers and therefore better for us in the long run.

Silly comments about it helps no-one.

Release candidate
The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization, all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug.

Subtitles are divided into two parts, beginning in the right side of the screen and end on the left side. Is there a way to correct this?

@chrissat
what did you get from this "new kernel"? card reader is non-functional now. my comments might be silly but releasing
firmware that have less vital features than the previous one
is not quite smart as well.
