I hope that someone has a clue what is wrong with my tm, I switched off tm from the remote last night (blue light was on), this morning I have noticed that my tm has no power to it at all. I have checked the plug fuse it is ok and all my other equipment working fine.
Anyone has any suggestion what may be wrong with my tm6900???

Assume you did actually unplug it totally from mains mate to totally reboot it when you tried to switch on again - plus there's a power toggle switch at back of TM you may have accidentally switched off?:respect-055:

Simialar thing happened to me a while back. It appeared that the PSU had gone kaput. Returned it to TM. They put a new PSU in, charged me £25.00 and returned it. Obviously I had to pay return postage.

Open your receiver, remove the Power Suply pcb (printed circuit board), and take a good look on all capacitors !
If you see some inflated capacitors or some leaking, Just replace for new Ones.
Most Power Suply failures, are because the capacitors, sometimes even if they don't present any "cosmetic" defauts, they can be dead.

Any idea where to get new ones (PCB) from, Google search come-up with nothing I am afraid, I certainly will try to do it myself rather than send it back to TM which might take up 2-3 weeks, unless there is some Soldering Iron involves which I haven't got the full kit for it...

Thanks for your help guys, I really appriciated.

Replace all Capacitors, it will cost 5£ !
And you will get a Brand New Power Suply

PS: You Just Need a Kit Like This, Not necessary the Pump (Small work)

Take out the Power Suply board, go to a electronics components shop (google for one in your region), and ask the guy, that you need to replace all the capacitors on the board (he will understand).

Hi Gen,

Had similar issues with a neighbours TM3500 a few months back, took it home, opened the covers, using a good magnifying glass noticed on of the electrolytic caps has slightly swollen on top. cant remember the Microfarad Rating or voltage, but de-soldered one of the same rating from an old scrap radio and stuck it it.. No Problems Since......

If you want to order on line, you can try C_P_C, F_A_R_N_E_L_L or RS supplies..or Worse M_aplin....

If that sounds like a headache, probably part with the £25 as stated above for ease of mind just in case something else has gone belly up as-well.....

Best of luck.....

Well I have open the box last night and had a good look inside, couldn't see anything obvious, no smell, no discolor or swollen capacitors, so I have took it to my local TM dealer to test the board and possibly send it away to get it repaired. Thanks guys for your great responses and help in this matter, this is why I love this forum...:respect-055:

thanks again will let you know once I got more info..

Nobody has bothered to mention here that if you don't know what you're doing - don't do it! PSU's can cause serious injury even when they are not connected to the mains. If you're not sure - leave it to someone who is! £25 or death? - I know what I'd pick. Be safe folks.

Well guys, I have sent my Tech to TM repair centre through my local TM dealer, took about a week and come with newly replaced capacitors, cost £37 including the del. Well I am happy with it and would advise anyone having same problem to do the same, unless you know what you doing.
