My Azbox has mysteriously changed its password while FTPing some music files to the hard drive.
Now when I try to Telnet or FTP it tells me incorrect logon.

OpenDreambox 1.6.0 AZBox

AZBox login:
AZBox login:
AZBox login: passwd
Password:
Login incorrect
AZBox login:
Login timed out after 60 seconds

Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 Welcome to the OpenDreambox FTP service.
Command: USER root
Response: 331 Please specify the password.
Command: PASS
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error

Normally I just used root with no password.

If no success via telnet with "passwd" command or using default password ("azbox") in the worst case you can try the default settings or reload the firmare after memory clean.

Tried factory reset and did not work.
I cannot put new firmware on, as AZup cant log in.

Any other way to get my box back?

Any help apreciated

If the password is not the standard or your personal password I guess you can only put new firmware.

I use typically this procedure:
- back up data using usb: settings / system information / back up / red button
( you can back up settings, channels and plugin folders)
- install again firmware using usb (don't forget DOM erase)
- restore data using usb with same procedure.

With new clean installation you will have standard "azbox" password that you can easily change from telnet.
I guess it should work
