you have just answered your own question
software update was because of people having trouble with that frequency
so if you have not loaded that patch load it and see if that cures your problem

Have tried loading this but box still can't lock onto frequency (not really daft enough to not try relevant fix or patch before posting) asked this question Previously and got answer about 'narrow beam" which I think is tosh, box locks for a second then drops back to red . Can anyone receive this transponder with 60% Q or less I have 78 % S wich is usually plenty. I watch many 16E on 24%. but they are not HD, there is definitely something not quite right with this frequency reception lock.

Hi
I had exactly this problem when my box had the (gift) patch from mid Dec.
I updated with the Feb patch and now have a solid lock with 78% quality.

Got an 80cm dish near to Dundalk, S=59% Q=68%.
Not perfect picture but still quite watchable.
