Hello all its been a while but I have recently got a Panasonic 3D TV for my sins and I am struggling without any joy to get the TV to auto switch to 3D from my DM8000. I am using the HDMI out via a Denon 2311 amp to process the audio and video. The TV happily switches when playing via my Samsung 3D Blu ray player but simply refuses to with the 8000. I upgraded my 8000 image to one of the latest nightly build PLI images and saw a massive difference in MKV file playback with DTS sound as before the pic was freezing and the sound caried on. Now they play no problem in general but on one film the audio blips quite a lot but the film plays ok. Lastly with the video setup only having a 720p setting on the 8000 if I playback a 1080p mkv file does it actually play in 1080p??
Sorry for cramming all my questions into one post.

if you want to view channels that are broadcasted in 3d (Side by side):
viera tools>3d picture format>side by side.
Downloaded films are crap in 3d.
Edit for: I think it will not auto switch due to DVI signalling

Downloaded films are crap in 3d.
3D is rubbish anyway, and just a gimmick that started in the early 1950's for movies, and has been through various reprievals.
The current 3D fad has not really taken off, but I am sure it will be back in another 10 or 20 years time as a means of selling TV sets.

zaxman have you downloade the the auto resolution plugins it works very well for mkvs and m2ts. i have oozoon and have no probs playing 3d play back
just install it and reboot dm go to auto resolution plugin menu and and set enable 1080p 24 mode to 1080p 24 p mode.
now play your mkv or m2ts your tv will now reconise it 3d 1080 24 p
when playing m2ts it give you the option in panosonic menu to turn 3d smooth play back off or on u should turn it of for best effect. (menu / setup/ other setting/ whilst playing film once its set its set
i have personaly found no difeerence in picture quality from a dvi to hd lead from dm while watching an m2ts bluray 3d film
there is no diffence at all when palying from a bluray player hooked via a 1.4 or a 1.3 or a dm dvi to hdmi lead the depth and picture quality is just the same
auto switching works for me weather it a 1.3 or 1.4 on my bluray player but not dm think its just a driver problem

ok I have had a little play and popped the auto resolution plugin on and set it up as suggested. it has immediately made a difference to the resolution that the TV is reporting it is receiving (now 1080p) but the 3D pic still displays side by side instead of auto switching on Sly3d channel. I will have another fiddle in a bit.

ive herd a universal remote fixes it .

edit i set all 720p24 1080p 24 and 1080 25 and 1080 30 all to 1080p 24p mode in auto resolution try some m2ts bluray m8 works very well i love it its great fun.

Ok cool I will alter the remaining settings and just manually flick the TV into 3D mode which I would like to say despite comments above is absolutely awesome. I also have a logitech universal remote which allows me to control all my hardware from the same device doesnt help with the total menu slowdown on the DM8000, it is unworkable almost when the TV is in 3D mode. I am on a PLi image so I may be seeing things slightly different to you but not by much mate. I will have a longer play this evening and let you know, I thought I saw slight video pausing last night in the 1080P mode in 3d but I only watched for a few mins.

I have had a proper play with the video settings and as advised set the modes across to 1080p 24, there were however 2 other settings I played with. One was for progressive and one for interlaced. If I set the interlaced one to 1080p 24 sure enough it plays in 1080p mode but its very grainy and glitchy so I have set that back to default.

just ran some more tests with my sly card in a sly hd box tv doesnt auto switch to 3d either think its just the ways its being broadcast as to why it wont auto switch.
dont think it has any thing to do with dvi lead or drivers

Sorry if i've got wrong end of the stick on your post.......
It's the TV that does the work with 3D picture, it won't just switch into 3D mode no matter what box you have. Its the TV that has to be changed by settings

hi jeffmlover all 3d games that you play from ps3 or pc are in original 3d format and not side by side. panisonic reconises this type of 3d broadcast and auto switches to 3d no problems.
ive search around for an answer as to why it wont auto switch from a side by side broadcast carnt find an answer .
the facility is there on the pansonic to set auto switch to atomaticaly switch to 3d.
which it does do from full sreen origianl 3d broadcast but not side by side.
there is a lot of talk that a 1.4 hdmi cable is needed but that is just not true
ill keep searching until i find the answer why i have emailed panosonic in the meen time
the manual for panosonic say auto switch mode may not work properly depending on the signal. in this case. select the appropiate pictue format.
some people on other forums have reported that auto swicth does work for side by side

I have noted on my Panasonic that if I press the info button on the TV it tells me its in 3D but doesnt auto switch, that was with a 3D mkv film.

@zaxman hi mate do you use the intelligent frame creation option when you watch say hd movies from dm8000.
its just it works superbly for me on nemesis 2.3 but doesnt work very well on other images.
im only going of my box and on other images for me picture quality is poor and nemesis 2.3 is brilliant and the intelligent frame creation on the panosonic tv works very well with this image but not so good on other images maybe its to do with picture quality being poor on other images or maybe its somthing else

More 3d issues :), I cant play downloaded 2d films which are in the full side by side image format only Half SBS will play. I think this is down to data transfer speed or processing speeds. Anyone got any ideas?
