Can anyone help me out here please? I switched on Icecrypt 3000HD for the second time and there was no sound. Checked tv sound and it's fine. Checked cables, mute button, etc. but no joy. I hit Factory reset to see if sound would come back but now I have no channels and can't see a way of scanning for them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah. It turned out that it was only the HD channels that had no sound. When I eventually got channels back with help of installer, I stumbled on solution completely by accident.

I hit blue button with speaker symbol on, and two options appeared in an on screen box, 'eng' and I think 'ung' or something like that (I'm not in front of set at the mo). It was set to 'eng', so out of desperation I tried the other. Hey presto!

I appreciate you taking the time to post a reply. When you know nothing, every bit of advice helps. Cheers.

Lol, no way. No time for money-orientated, fat cat football. That's why I'm delighted Hammers will be playing in a purer league next season.

On a more serious note, I'm now stuck on one channel (Sky News thankfully!). Every time I hit any button, menu, exit, or another channel, the box switches itself off and back on again. Front display has TXT, EPG, SAT permanently on. I've tried unplugging and plugging back in but no good.

Any ideas what could be causing this and/or a solution? Cheers in advance.

Have you upgraded the firmware? It sounds like you have the buggy early version.
Download the latest version in the firmware section.
It should cure your problems.

Cheers for that. I was guessing it may be something like that but as I'm completely new to all this I didn't want to do anything until I had advice from someone in the know. I'll do it when I get home. Appreciate it.

I tried that but I can't access the menu to download the firmware. As soon as I input the USB, I get a message that it's connected but after that if I hit any button the screen freezes. Really feel like I'm in deep do do now.

Make sure you have unzipped the software into the root folder of your USB and that you are using the right type of software. If you bought your Ice from a private user for instance, they might have changed the clone versionof the receiver for instance to Atevio or Octagon (you can check it in System information menu). Hope this makes sense.

I made sure the file was at the root and the machine came straight from the box in the wrapping so I doubt any changes were made. I just can't access the menu page. As soon as I hit the button, the screen freezes. I've tried rebooting with the usb in but no difference.

format the stick on your pc to fat32 , then copy the unpacked file to the root , then try it again

If formating the stick does not make any difference-try another stick. Good luck.

Amazingly I was able to access the menu today. I don't know why, I just switched it on and it came up via the button, no freezing.

Anyway I tried the upgrade zipped but it wouldn't recognise it, so I unzipped it and tried again. Worked perfectly second time round. Have to scan channels again but no big deal.

Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciated.

Not sure if I should start a new thread on this but I'll check here first.

Just for experimental purposes, I'm trying to input a c line but keep getting login failed. Basically, I've just input the username and password provided but I guess there's more to it with Icecrypt than say Spiderbox. Is there something basic I'm missing?

I tried looking for answer in other threads but saw lots of technical stuff I can't understand.

you need the hostname server , port , login-name and login-password

some details on this can be found in this tool thread

https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=130709

obviously it depends which file you are amending as to what needs to be done

most members would use an ftp program to alter these details using the ftp editor

Thanks but this is where I'm lost. I don't understand anything about amending files. I thought it was simply a case of inputting the Server, port, username and password. I've tried this via Network Local Settings in the Tools menu and also the Network DDNS Setting but no joy.

I've tried looking at that link but tbh I'm lost.

I would think those settings you are talking about are router and dyndns settings , nothing to do with a c line

c lines usually go into the cccam.cfg file , or the equivalent file depending on your box

the details I linked to are normally used for the icecrypt 4000 and xcam , so you need to have a plugin on your box that is similar and correct for your box , then amend it accordingly in a manner similar to the icecrypt 4000 that I linked to

the point here being you have to find out what your box uses ( if any ) and use the supplied c line details accordingly , on a spider this means either editing a cfg file or inputting via the remote into the network server part , but all boxes use different procedures

I just got it to work on 3000HD. The key info I needed was the cccam reference in your post. Thanks.

Basically went to Tools menu, selecting Network Local Settings
Turned DHCP to On
App Selected to CCCAM
Red button to edit
Select String for URL and entered host server
Entered Port, Username and Password as given
Login

Hope the above proves to be useful to some other equally technology-challenged person as myself.

I really appreciate all the help given on here. Donation on the way.
