TDT tuner for HD TDT tuner is it possible?

I have a Samsung LE40A558P3F LCD TV that is now 3 years old, it has a built in TDT tuner which works fine. As there are now several stations bradcasting in HD down here does anybody know if the tuner can be replaced for a HD one as I have seen that the latest TV's come with HD TDT?

Replacing the Tuner won't be enough !
Tv will need new Firmware, new drivers etc ...
Use an external Tuner, for aerial it costs a few pounds !
