I have a perfectly usable TT One V2 running MAps 865-3245 with Navcore 8-417-1255, with thanks to the people on this forum for sorting out a few niggles etc... I am wanting to upgrade to a bigger screen/widescreen Sat Nav, and wondered what the collective thoughts on the best unit to buy, which is just as "hackable" as my old TT One V2. Would prefer not to spend a lot. I would appreciate your thoughts/advice.

Thanks

Mick

Any of the Tomtom range except for their latest releases.

Why not any of the latest releases?

Can't you use patched maps etc on them?

I am also thinking of upgrading from my very old but reliable Tom Tom Go 300.

It has never let me down. :)

I have the TomTom GO 1000 EU and it's so much better than my old 930.

If you want an even bigger screen get the 1005 which is same as the 1000 but has a 5 inch screen.

The only downside at present is that you can't change the maps to a different region, so for example you can't yet add a USA map to the EU version.

For the reason posted by xanadu. I'm not sure how 'upgradeable' these latest units are with any copied maps & extras ??
Maybe xanadu can let us know if he tries any upgrades :)
