AAF recovery too not detecting my box

anyone else had it, where when u turn on the box, the settings dont become active (not detected box via serial)

it used to work....

its using COM5 which is a valid port.

im going to use another laptop... but in the meantime, anyone have any tricks?

ive found the attached which should help me (4.1) (USING a USB to Serial converter)

but LUCKIL my other laptop with a built in coms port (serial) has worked fine...


when i tried the 4.1 trick on the non working laptop (with a usb - serial converter) it didnt work, probably because i have the maxiboot bootloader installed...

u can see in the putty progress, press any key to interupt, but it doesnt work....so had to use laptop with built in coms port, which worked without needing the trick
