got the above model started playing up watching a satellite channel and the tv will jump to a terrestial tv channel on its own and is unresponsive to remote when i try to change it back got switch tv off at socket to get it to reset itself also on another occassion volume went to maximum on its own and when i turned it down with remote to minimum it went back up to max again on its own again had to switch set of at plug to reset it

Sounds likr you have got a problem with the touchpad control on the front of the set.Samsung had problems with these a few years back.You can go into service mode and see if there is a hotel mode option,if there is you can turn it on and this isolates the front panel controls but works with remote,proves if control panel is faulty or not...

how do i get into service mode

with the set in standby press these keys on the remote in this order...INFO-MENU-MUTE-RED STANBY. the set will then come on in service mode with a service menu.From memory the section you need is in OPTIONS then HOTEL MODE.In there you can turn sections on and off as well as turning hotel mode ON...A big word of caution though,this is a factory service menu and adjusting something that you shouldnt could BRICK your set...

should have known better since having a look in here on my set I can no longer get DTV when I push the button it says not available have I changed anything probably by mistake.
It does not evens an for freeview channels anymore lol.

Any ideas before I brick it!

O no,like I said caution is reqd...You could go back into the service menu and maybe first have a look to see if any of the options look a like dtv on/off setting.Dont alter anything though if not sure or if you do better to right it down on paper 1st then you can always set it back.
Also in that menu there is a factory reset setting,would also be worth doing that cos should put it back to its "out of box new settings" and should be like it was new out of the factory...

put it in hotel mode still changing over from hdmi satellite to terrestial channels on its own accord also touch pad is still active i hope there was more than 12 months warranty on this model just been on to samsung and as my tv is not long out of warranty as a goodwill gesture they are going to repair it free of charge so its worthwhile to get on to them

still no luck for me only thing i did click was the reset and since then no more DTV when clicked it says not available :(

samsung told me to hold down exit button on remote for 20 seconds or so until you get a message to reset but didnt do me any good you could try that

Hi welshpaddy

Silly thing to suggest. It could be your remote control doing these auto functions even when you are not touching the remote due to one of the pad in the remote is stuck which causes malfunctions. It happend to me long time ago with my Toshiba. Remove the batteries of your remote and use your LCD manual switches to control functions without the remote control. Or try a universal remote and see if your LCD behaves normally. Good luck

definitely not the remote tv just jumped from hd satellite input to digitial terrestial channels and started to continuously cycle through all the channels could stop it as set would not respond to remote had to reboot tv from wall socket as it wouldnt respond to touch panel either

just had repair man out reckons its main pcb or touch control hes ordered both see what happens when he fits them glad im not paying for repair

I had the repair guy here today as well, he thinks the tuner has failed on mine. anyway my samsung has gone away for 10 days to be fixed.

repair man came out yesterday fitted new main pcb board and touch panel fired it up and couldnt get a picture at all reckons new pcb board was faulty took set away with him this time

got set back yesterday all ok now replacement pcb board last week was faulty arnt these things checked at production end
