Having to trim my boundary bush that reaches the 1.2 m solid dish, I noted that at some time after the last trim that my LNB has a melted hole about the size of a pencil in the plastic cap. The dish must have focused the rays with some power to do this. So it looks like a new LNB when the old one packs up.

PS The dish moves from 27.5 w to 42 e but mainly sits at 13 e.

You must have had some really hot weather around the 21st March, which I did, as it's around that time the sun is on the same arc as the Clarke belt. It will happen again in September. Luckily lnb's are cheap as chips these days.

Looks like a new LNB is on the books. This one must be 10 or more years old. So I have had my monies worth. :D

Or you can simply replace the plastic cap on the LNB.

Make sure that the dish is not shiny or it will happen again,

The newer LNB (with better noise level) may give you better signal during rainy days.
