I have just recently got a VU+ solo, and am very pleased with it so far, it is using Blackhole image, however I have no experience of linux boxes and I want to upload a new channel list. I downloaded Dreamboxedit and got my IP address from the box and selected Enigma 2 settings . I tried using root as username and solo as password but tied to connect but just keep getting message, cannot login check username and password. The same result if I leave password field blank. I have tried VU Control centre and it wont connect either. I guess I'm missing something and would be most grateful for any help or advice.
Thanks in advance,
Reamon

The Vu+ receivers don't have a default password set from new so the password field will be left empty.

Username: root

What IP address is showing in the Vu+ Network menu?

If it's connected to your router ok it should be something like: 192.168.1.3

When I go to menu on the VU+ and then to network/adapter settings, it shows
IP Address 192.168.0.2 and thats what I have been entering in Dreamboxedit

Try connecting again using Vu+ Control Centre

IP: 192.168.0.2
Username: root
Password:

If that fails reboot the router then check the IP again in the Vu menu to make sure it hasn't changed. If it has changed then enter the new IP in VuCC and try again.

I finally seem to have solved it, by accident I found that it seem the password is vusolo. Everything worked fine after that. Many thanks hda5 for your help and no doubt I'll probably be back with more questions.
