Hi,

Installed a DVD drive in my 8000 but have not got it to play a single disc as yethttp://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/13.gif

Obviously, it's the new model which no longer has the USB to SATA adapter, there is now a SATA connecter on the mother board specifically for ithttp://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/113.gif

The drive is recognised in the device manager as a USB item but does not apear in DVD player menu & only spins up for a few seconds when you insert a disc.

Tried numerous images inc Oozoon, DreamElite, BH etc, all to no avail.

Any ideas guyshttp://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/106.gif

Thanks

To play DVDs you'll need to install libdvdcss2 mate.

I've attached libdvdcss2_4.1.3+git-r2_mipsel.ipk

FTP libdvdcss2_4.1.3+git-r2_mipsel.ipk to /tmp folder.

Go to the addons manager and select "manual Install Ipk packages"

Reboot after installing.

Hmm, still no gohttp://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/13.gif

The drive is a sony bd-5730s 6x internal blu-ray writer, presumably this should work OK??

There are now 2 SATA connectors where you have indicated in the pic, one of which has DVD written next to it. Mine is connected there.

Will take a pic next time I have the lid off http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/46.gif
