insert your stick, then; menu, system tools, data transfer, transfer service data to USB storage (this also transfers your timers)

or, if you just want to transfer channels list, choose just channel list. Alternatively, if you have the software such ad DrEdit or PolarEdit (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=142747), which is better (designed for Octagon, but works with all the clone boxes) and your stb is connetced to the home network you can edit the channel lists, including youe favs and save it onto your computer hdd.

mate, what do you mean by "if you just want to transfer channels list, choose just channel list"

where is that? we're talking original firmware here.

I thought you could choose to save All System Data (which I think includes timers as well) or Service Data, which I think only saves the channel list. But I would not bet my life on it ;)

I think thebox is talking about a S3000HDCCI guys, not a S4000.
The S3000 saves its complete settings and Firmware in a dump to USB.
So once you have set up the Master receiver the way you want it. Use the upgrade via USB option in the tools section then select dump and start. It will create a dump.abs file on the USB.

I should think so. Providing the f/w is compatible etc.

so the dump will not have the firmware on it as well just the channel data etc?

I don't have this box, but if it works in the similar way to s4000, then the firmware and plugins are not saved to usb. Just channel lists, settings and timers.

The dump on the S3000 is the complete memory dump that includes the firmware and the settings.
