is there a policy one can take out for dish insurance ie for storm damage etc

Home insurance normally covers it.

i had my one of my sat systems insured for over £ 2000 years ago
a chaparral Monterey fully loaded and a 2.3 m dish with with c and Ku band lnbs
but check with your insurance company what is covered

I think your building and contents insurance cover all your electric equipments inside and outside your house.

No police changed your receiver is covered with home insurance your dish is covered only up to £300 and that is it I found out the hard way.
