28 east on 5400ci

hi guys
is there a patch that will let me open 28 east with an official card im going abroad and want to take my box and card with me

I don't know about the 5400 but the 6900 has worked with an official card for quite a while now - only trouble is that the card will not update so will need to sit in a SKY box overnight every six weeks or so.

Try a friend's card and see. For premium services there is a thing about pressing yellow in the card menu and entering the 8 digit number from the back of the sky box - this is to do with pairing.

a spiderbox works and updates the card

a blade would also work , or an icecrypt , or many other similar boxes

I dont think older boxes will though , and not a trex either

its all down to what a person requires and their budget really

Just to confirm that I use a TM 5400 CI Super+ here in Spain.
The patch is 147p installed in January 2011.
My FSFS card works perfectly in the card slot.
I have never left the card in the slot for any length of time to see if it updates as I have a seperate sky system for the Boss of the household!!!
I have read many times that it does update but I cannot confirm this.
So take your receiver with you it will work.
